The Honest Intro

Updated: Jul 10, 2025

Welcome in, friend.

Before anything else, let me tell you, this space isn’t polished to perfection. It’s not curated for applause. It’s real life. It’s messy counters, loud laughter, tired prayers, and a whole lot of grace. I’m not writing from a place of arrival, but from the road, one worn by love, stretched by trials, and held together by Jesus.

I’m Kortni Lasater, the creative voice behind these blogs, but also a wife, a mama, a creative, and above all, a daughter of the King. I hold a deep belief that faith isn’t something we wear once a week. It’s the undercurrent of every breath. Through this blog, you’ll find reflections on life, not as I wish it looked, but as it actually unfolds.

Our family? We’re beautifully imperfect. The kind of people who burns the biscuits, and cry in the middle of the kitchen. But we laugh just as hard, love just as big, and cling to Jesus all the tighter. You might read a story here and think, How in the world did they make it through? And I’ll tell you plainly: we didn’t, He carried us.

This blog isn’t meant to impress, it’s meant to bless. It’s a space for honest words and heartfelt reflections, shaped by the beauty and grit of daily life. My hope is that these stories feel like steady reminders of truth, the kind that meet you right where you are.

We’re a family that works full-time jobs, keeps the homestead rooted, runs to sports practices, shows up for church, attends community events, and still finds time for the everyday joys tucked into the beautiful mess. Life doesn’t slow down but grace meets us in motion.

You won’t find flashy headlines or perfect formulas here. Just quiet encouragement, gentle truth, and a deep desire to honor the kind of faith that lives and breathes in real-life schedules.

If even one story stirs something in you, a sense of clarity, joy, or renewed purpose, then this space has done what it was created to do.

Fun Fact: Chalk art has become one of my favorite creative outlets. It started as a simple way to spend time with my family and turned into something that brings joy to others and to myself. Whether it’s beloved characters drawn on the driveway or a splash of color on a quiet afternoon, I love how something so simple can brighten a space and create connection. It may only last until the next rain, but it’s always worth the moment it brings. See more on Pinterest or read this article get a sneak peak.

So, here’s to honest intros. To showing up exactly as we are and trusting that even fleeting moments can leave a lasting impression.

Love always,

Kortni Lasater
