A Little Clue, A Lot of Love: Why We Created the Homestead Hunt

It started with Emma.
She’s always been creative, asking for paper, always making something new. One day it was a scavenger hunt. Then another. Then she’d ask Bebe and me to make one too. So, we did. That’s how Homestead Hunts began, right here at home, built out of imagination and a little back-and-forth between family.
Now I’ve put some of those together for others to enjoy. Parents, grandparents, babysitters, folks who want to offer something fun without having to come up with it from scratch.
But just so you know, this scavenger hunt stuff isn’t as simple as it looks. There’s a whole lot of time spent wrangling words that rhyme just enough to sound clever without being confusing. Feather... leather... better... getter... header, you get the idea. Before you know it, you're sitting at the dining table trying to stay in the conversation while your mind’s off chasing rhymes. Or you’re at work, jotting down a random word on a sticky note because it might just fit that one clue you’re stuck on.
It’s a labor of love for sure, but it's also a bit of a puzzle. And that’s what makes it fun.
